黑料正能量Spotlight: Jennifer Schmid-Fareed

Jennifer Schmid-FareedJennifer Schmid-Fareed works as the 黑料正能量Mindfulness program coordinator and the administrative assistant for MDOCS.  

As organizer of the Mindfulness program, she leads guided meditation groups twice a week and teaches yoga classes on Saturdays and Sundays. The free programs are geared toward students but are also open to faculty and staff.  

鈥淚n addition, I really enjoy creating larger events around Sound Healing,鈥 Schmid-Fareed says. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a great way for students to turn inward and relax.鈥

As the administrative assistant for MDOCS, 鈥淚 mainly do whatever I can to support the incredible faculty and staff running the program,鈥 she says. 鈥淚t鈥檚 truly an absolute pleasure.鈥

Schmid-Fareed joined 黑料正能量in November 2016 after managing a yoga retreat for more than 10 years. She joined MDOCS in January.

She enjoys hiking through North Woods and loves the College鈥檚 collaborative environment. 鈥淢y favorite thing about 黑料正能量is that I learn as much from the students as I do from my colleagues,鈥 she says.

When not on campus, Schmid-Fareed likes to practice yoga, draw and paint.
